2. Documents, local processing and iCloud

NoviPDF processes camera images, imported documents, text recognition and PDF edits on your device. Document content is not sent to our own processing server or to RevenueCat for these functions. The app does not require its own user account and does not include advertising networks.

The camera is used for scanning with your permission. For import and export, the app accesses the files and folders you select. Local data includes documents, settings, recent-file references and the count of free saves.

When iCloud is available for the app, categories, their rules and certain settings are synchronized through Apple's iCloud. This is separate from local document processing.

Exporting to iCloud Drive or another cloud provider's folder, including an automatic export you configure, or sharing files transfers them to the destination you choose. Device backups may also contain app data. The settings and privacy policies of the respective providers apply.

3. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

We use RevenueCat to manage and process in-app purchases and subscriptions.

RevenueCat may process, in particular, a pseudonymous or randomly generated user identifier as well as information about purchases and subscriptions. This information is required, for example, to validate purchases and determine whether a particular subscription or purchased feature is available.

The app does not send document content, names or email addresses to RevenueCat. RevenueCat is initialized at app launch to check purchase status. Purchase data is also available for purchase management and reporting in the RevenueCat dashboard. RevenueCat is based in the United States; its privacy information also addresses international data transfers.

For more information, please see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy .

4. Apple App Store

In-app purchases are processed through Apple and the Apple App Store.

Apple processes the information required to process the payment. We do not receive your complete payment details, such as credit card or bank account information.

Apple's Privacy Policy applies to data processing by Apple.

5. Support and legal bases

If you contact us by email, we process your email address, message and any details or attachments you voluntarily provide to handle your request. Please only send information needed for that purpose.

Contract-related support requests are processed under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; other requests are processed based on our legitimate interest in responding under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Providing the app functions you use and the processing required for them are based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where not required for contract performance, purchase administration and reporting are based on our legitimate interest in reliable and accountable operations under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

To the extent that the GDPR applies to the processing of personal data, processing in connection with in-app purchases and subscriptions is carried out for the performance and management of the relevant purchase or subscription pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

6. Data Retention

Locally stored documents remain until you delete them. Exported copies and backups may need to be deleted separately. Settings and purchase status may remain stored on the device. We retain support messages for as long as needed to handle the request and, where applicable, to meet statutory retention obligations.

For data processed by Apple or RevenueCat in connection with purchases or subscriptions, the respective privacy and data retention policies of those providers apply.

7. Your Rights

Where the applicable legal requirements are met, you have rights under the GDPR including the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to certain processing activities.

If you wish to exercise your rights or have any questions regarding privacy, you can contact us using the email address provided above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

8. Changes

We may update this privacy policy if the functionality of NoviPDF or the services we use changes.

The latest version will be made available through the privacy policy page provided for NoviPDF.
